For the past three decades, the Middle Grades Institute has provided high quality professional development to educators who work with young adolescents. This summer’s Institute prepares individuals, teams, and schools to continue to implement learning environments that respond to students’ needs, particularly social and emotional trauma in light of the COVID-19 pandemic . In the interest of safety and flexibility, this summer we are providing participants with the option to take the Institute completely online or to attend one of the regionally-based institutes. The current plan for locations are:
Lyndonville -- NVU/Lyndon
White River Junction -- CCV Upper Valley
As always, participants may attend in teams or individually, and will have access to interactive workshops, thought-provoking presentations, and facilitated planning time. The focus of this summer's institute is equity-oriented middle grades education and will include rich opportunities to draw connections between this theme and your teaching goals.
If you want to attend in-person at a regionally-based location, please register by May 20, 2022 so that we can locate a regional institute near you. We will do our best to situate a location in or near your community. If you want to attend the Institute completely online, please register by May 27, 2022. MGI is committed to a humane work and learning environment. The balance between in-person and remote learning may be adjusted during the week in response to conditions and need.
